Rescue and aftercare.
Changing lives, one rescue at a time
At Free a Girl, rescuing children from sexual exploitation is our top priority. To date, we have rescued over 8000 children, working hand in hand with local law enforcement and trusted partners.
In most of the countries where we work, police forces actively participate in these missions. After each rescue, our aftercare team ensures that every child feels safe, protected, and supported in their recovery.
Sexual exploitation is a highly profitable industry, generating billions in revenue. Children are abducted, deceived, or sold into illegal brothels, where they are forced to endure dozens of clients daily.
Sexual exploitation occurs in visible locations such as hotels, but also in hidden places like private residences. The internet plays an increasing role in this crisis. Children can be groomed from their homes.
Child exploitation is shifting online—where predators groom, traffic, and abuse children at alarming rates. Research shows:
- According to the Guardian, more than 300 million children are victims of online sexual exploitation and abuse.
- Western demand fuels the trafficking of children in developing countries.
We are fighting back by:
- Training global teams in advanced cyber-investigations
- Tracking online networks that lead to real-world exploitation
- Strengthening law enforcement to prosecute online traffickers

Every minute matters for a child trapped in sexual exploitation. They have no future to look forward to, and their dreams have been stolen. Together, we can rescue, protect, and give them a future where they are free to dream again. We also work to change legal systems, ensuring no child ever faces this fate again.
